The FX-Audio BOX02 is a low price phono preamplifier, offering a very high quality internal design. It supports the board with MM and MC cells, a switch under the device to select one of the two technologies. The preamplification stage is based on low noise OPA NJM2068 and JFET TL071C. These offer excellent audio performance in terms of noise and distortion. On the connector side, there is a stereo RCA input for MM or MC turntables and a stereo RCA output to connect the unit to your amplifier. A screw terminal block allows you to add the ground of your board.
The device also offers several settings via 3 DIP switches positioned underneath the device. The first DIP switch allows you to choose between MM and MC cells but also to select a gain level at 0dB or 6dB. The other two DIP switches, each corresponding to a channel (L/R), allow you to select a capacitance and an impedance in accordance with your phono cell. A setting that is usually found mainly on high-end phono preamplifiers.
